Researchers have found that up to 90% of telecom invoices
for any company contain some kind of error. It has also been
estimated that the average savings procured through a
telecom audit are 30%-40% of telecom expenses. Keep in mind
that these savings run the gamut of telecom expenses,
ranging from long distance service to billing costs. These
figures are only the average in the United States today.
With technology and telecom needs growing constantly, the
chance for errors resulting in savings will only increase.
Think of the potential savings your company can find through
a comprehensive telecom audit.
Telecom audits can review any service that you feel could
better serve your needs at a better cost. This includes
local and long distance, fax, modem, equipment,
configuration, billing methods, and internet. A
telecommunications audit can work to save you money in any
or all of these areas. Your industry or the size of your
business does not determine how you can benefit from a
telecom audit. It simply changes the ways in which we can
work with you to optimize service and savings.
Telecom auditing can benefit any company, no matter the
industry or the size of the business. Whether your company
is small or operating on an international level, your
telecom will always be one of the top five expenses. From
hospitality management companies to worldwide service
providers, themselves, every company in existence will come
across billing errors, and each one can benefit from a close
look at their telecom management. The following are just a
few examples of telecom audits that saved money for several
companies varying in size.
Telecommunications Service Provider
This international provider of telecom services was paying
close to $10 million per year for voice services. Through a
complete telecom audit, the company was able to reduce this
expense by 50%. In this case, the company did choose to
switch carriers, since the more expensive vendors contract
was close to expiration. In addition to these savings, the
audit revealed $5 million dollars in overpayment due to
invoice errors, which was credited back to the company
within twelve months.
Storage Company
A medium-sized storage company reduced their monthly expense
by 15%, without changing carriers. It was found that, while
service needed optimization, the current vendor was able to
offer the best terms and rates. This company also managed to
procure a refund for a fax line that was paid for, but never
used. This was accomplished during a gap analysis, reviewing
contractual terms versus actual services received. It was
found that the fax line had, in fact, been out of use for
several months, and the contract was not updated.
Customer Service Call Center
This business was able to reduce monthly expenses, namely
those concerning their long distance plan, by 50%. This was
accomplished, once again, not through a change of vendor,
but through a re-negotiation of their contract with the
current provider. It was also found that reconfiguring
routing could save the company an additional $1,500 per
month. |
